Power Flow Systems has received another STC for the Tuned Exhaust products it is retrofitting into a growing number of single engine aircraft. The latest approval is for the Beechcraft 23 Series, which includes the 19A, 23, A23-19, B19, B23, C23 and M19A. The installations can be made with the Lycoming 0-320 and 0-360 engines.
The system is a true tuned exhaust system that delivers up to 23 additional horsepower. This translates into 30-130 more rpm, 50-250 fpm increase in climb, fuel savings at current speeds/power settings and an improved cabin/carb heat design, according to Power Flow officials, who add that the improved volumetric efficiency results in lower CHT, which helps to increase engine life.
Each kit includes all installation hardware needed and a fully illustrated installation manual. The exhaust kit with a polished muffler is $4,290. The version with a ceramic muffler sells for $4,490.
