Elliott Aviation has received FAA STC approval on a flat panel “Elite Series” cockpit upgrade for the Citation 501/551 series aircraft and has applied for FAA approval on the 550/S550/560 series aircraft.
The Citation 501/551 is the third airframe for which Elliott Aviation holds STCs for its Elite Series flat panel installation. Previously, Elliott earned STCs for the Citation 650 and Falcon 10/100.
The Elite Series upgrade modernizes the flight deck by replacing aging electromechanical and CRT-based EFIS flight instruments with a Universal 890R large-format instrument suite. The 890R upgrade incorporates an array of advanced capabilities that will accommodate current and emerging technologies. In addition to the 890R displays, the certification aircraft included the full integration of additional equipment consisting of RVSM, Universal UNS-1L FMS, Universal TAWS, Universal Vision-1 Synthetic Vision, a Skywatch HP traffic sensor, Collins Proline II Radios, Uplink weather and a Meggitt electronic engine instrumentation system.
