Free admission and a new exhibit hall are just a few of the changes visitors will find at the 2006 Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show. The show takes place Feb. 25-26 at the Washington Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Wash.
“You can thank some of our sponsors, namely Weather Works, Air BP, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, DUAT, Seattle Avionics and Flying Magazine for the free admission,” says show coordinator Rachel Hansen.
The new building is large enough to put all the exhibitors in one location, as well as allow more room for aircraft display. There will be 300 exhibitors, up quite a bit from the less than 200 exhibitors last year, she said.
The show will feature children’s activities, educational forums for adults and several speakers, including AOPA President Phil Boyer; aviation pioneer and X-15 pilot Scott Crossfield; former senior investigator for the National Transportation and Safety Board Greg Feith; flight instructor and motivational speaker Cathe’ Fish; pilot, writer and humorist Mark Grady; and Brian Udell, who holds the record for surviving the highest speed ejection from a U.S. fighter aircraft.
Shuttle buses will run between the fairgrounds and Thun Field/Pierce County Airport (1S0) for visitors who want to fly in for the show.
