Pan Am International Flight Academy’s (PAIFA) Career Pilot Development (CPD) division has restructured its training program to minimize out-of-pocket expenses for military veterans.
Active duty military personnel and veterans may be reimbursed for most of their flight training expenses through the Montgomery GI Bill. A new law gives reservists who were activated after Sept. 11, 2001, the same educational benefits. Training is conducted at the academy’s campus in Phoenix.
Pan Am also is including a free Air Crew Education (ACE) Course, valued at $6,120, to all veterans who enroll in the full program. A prorated discount will be given to those with prior flight experience. ACE is a turbine-transition, airline-preparation course based on the Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ). Completion of the ACE Course qualifies graduates for placement into PAIFA’s partner airlines with flight times well below those set for the general public.
The academy operates training facilities in Miami, Orlando, and Vero Beach, Fla.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Memphis, Tenn.; Dulles, VA; St. Louis; Minneapolis; Phoenix and Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Beaver Falls, Pa.
