Planepix.com now has available the first in a limited series of prints signed by still-living World War II aces. The first in the Aces Collection features Col. Robert J. Goebel. The print, personally signed by Goebel, features a wartime portrait of then Lt. Goebel and a magnificent air-to-air color photograph of a restored P-51D, painted to represent his personal Mustang, the “Flying Dutchman.” Goebel was credited with 11 victories while flying with the 308th Fighter Squadron, 15th Air Force in Italy.
