Premier Air Center of East Alton, Ill., has signed agreements with two Falcon 50 operators for installation of Universal Avionics EFI-890R flight display packages. Premier recently entered into an agreement with Universal Avionics Systems to certify the Vision-1 synthetic vision system with the “egocentric” view on the EFI-890R primary flight display. Premier was the first completion center to certify the system on a Part 25 Falcon 20.
Much of the product’s savings and flexibility come from its ability to interface with many of the “legacy” avionics, such as the autopilot and radar systems, currently installed in Falcon 50 aircraft, Premier Air Center officials said.
Premier’s Falcon 50 package includes Universal’s Class “A” TAWS system, dual Vision-1 synthetic vision systems, dual cockpit display computers, dual UNS-1F flight management systems, dual radio control units, dual Rockwell Collins AHS-3000A AHRS systems, Honeywell Primus 880 radar system with dual controls, L3 Communications GH-3000 standby gyro system and dual Baker M1045 audio panels. Downtime is estimated to be between 10 and 16 weeks, depending on the options chosen and other work to be completed at the same time. Pricing for the package ranges from $600,000 to $1.5 million.
