Hartzell now is able to obtain STCs for its OEM and Top PropT retrofit customers more quickly.
FAA award of Designated Alteration Station (DAS) status allows the company to issue its own STCs for propeller installations on Part 23 single and multi-engine piston and turbine-powered aircraft.
It also includes the authority to install related propeller components, such as deice and anti-ice systems, governors, synchronizing and synchrophasing systems, and spinners.The DAS authority extends throughout the entire certification process from initial conception, design and flight testing through preparation and approval of STC installation instructions, flight manual supplements, maintenance manual supplements and final issuance of the STC.
